For 60 years the New Zealand Nuffield Farming Scholarships have promoted leadership and the implementation of innovative practice in agribusiness through worldwide study and interpersonal contact.
As New Zealand celebrates 60 years of Nuffield Scholars we can reflect on over 120 New Zealanders benefiting from the experience of a lifetime starting with Sir Charles Hilgendorf in 1950. Since then a great many agribusiness leaders have experienced a Nuffield Scholarship on their way to making a difference in many areas of New Zealand life and business.
In recent years the Nuffield Scholarship awarded from New Zealand has taken on a complete global focus with an organised 6 week tour exposing the travelling scholar to a range of agribusiness issues all over the world. This exposure and the contacts made, guarantee a life changing experience, from which to continue their personal development once they return to New Zealand.
Over the last 60 years there have been scholar representatives from a wide range of agribusiness activities from traditional sheep, beef and dairy through to pig farming, vegetable growers and orchardists, and in recent times policy advisors and educationalists.
If you believe that you have something to offer New Zealand’s future leadership in your industry and beyond then we strongly recommend the Nuffield experience.
Scholars have become chairpersons of many organisations, but above all else they fill the role of leading and innovative farm practitioners.
